I just had to convert most of my png images to gif because Internet Explorer has terrible support for png. It does not display the colors correctly, and this wreaks havoc with my design. I signed an online
petition
, but apparently Microsoft has been lagging for 4 years in providing decent png support. This is really annoying because I would love to use 24 bit png images with alpha blending. grrrr!

Meh. You use too many big, intelligent words in this post. I don't like it. It hurts my head. I like the crazy ant farm one better. It had no words and the title was funny. Made me think of little ants in farms doing a revolution in the style of Animal Farm. Little ants are funny. I try not to tread on them when I walk on teh ground. They should have voices so they can yell out some more.

The system needs a lot of work, I just started working on it on a couple hours ago, and revamped the whole message board system. Ahh PHP programming is fun.

Anyway, you can upload an image (png or jpeg only for the moment) up to 128 by 128 pixels. This avatar will then appear by your posts. I will solidify the code for all this when I have more time, I've already been up night working on this.

I will post my dreams in this thread... I'm posting the dreams I had written about before I accidentally trashed my message board. :(

This old man was showing me a movie in my mother's room, about these 2 brothers that had a spaceship made out of styrofoam. They are flying through space, and then their styrofoam cup engine breaks somehow... They struggle to reach it to the intergalatic space store, and one brother buys the other one all new pieces for his half of the spaceship. You see, they had a ship with 2 parts and they had to carry it through space.

Now I am in a building downtown somewhere, and we are throwing stuff out of a window for fun, as part of some prank tv show. The stuff belongs to some neighbor's downstairs. We throw out a rug and some wicker chairs. I said I do not want to participate. Someone tells me to go sit in the other room then.

This guy gets all pissed off at me and starts ramming mechanial parts into my arms... I have to rip them all out...

Then I am outside the building watching it destruct, and all the actors are walking home. I think I am done with my reality TV experience.

I step out on the street and see 4 guys in a half car looking thing that is very low to the ground. They are spitting on the street constantly. They dissapear and I am left in their wake. This girl comes outside and claims that I have spit on her father's car.

Next thing I know I am being dragged through a bunch of tumbleweed and spiky bushes and stuff.

Then they took me to an acupunturist who said he was going to give me ancient chinese rememdy. It was awful. They stuck these fat needles all over, they pinned my eyelids open, stuck needles in my fingers. There were 2 asain people performing this.

I tried to wake up and write about this dream but I am still stuck in the dream. I go to to my old room and search for something to write with. I am in a crazy schizophrenic world. I can't wake up. I go to my mother's room and try to turn on the lights. I try the manual switches, not working. I turn on the wall switch and see a tink spark of light, but that's it.

I wake up and write about the dream.

I am at my mother's house, which is situated in a forest wonderland. I run outside, running through the forest with multicolored lights lighting my way. I find a big contraption that has colorful chutes for balls to roll down. It was a twisted maze of chutes and mechinics to return the balls to the top. Garett was at the top putting balls down the master chute.

Then our mother had awaken and we were not in the house. I ran through the forest and found the controls for the lights. I shut them all off, making it harder to find me. My brother had found a bicycle, and rode towards my mother's campus, which was lighted with bright white florescent lights. I ran toward the lake, and jumped in. I awoke under the blankets as if it were the surface of the water. I see the lights of a search party.

I was moving on a bus, and after the trip, the bus driver was extracting the luggage from the bus with a big conveyor belt that was angled up to lift the luggage. I don't remember anything about the bus trip. I was looking for my duffle bag, then later I found out that all my stuff was in a huge crate. The side of the crate was broken, and I was afraid that some of my stuff had fallen out. I looked around for my clothes, and then saw that my whole dresser was in it.

rtre is the most comprehensive interactive rendering solution available for professional 3ds max users, students, and academic institutions. rtre is already in use by some of the World's leading commercial groups including Foster & Partners, ASDA/Wal*Mart, Helmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK), Corus, British Airports Authority (BAA), SAS, Jarvis, RMJM, Parkman, Telenor Expo, The Jerde Partnership and Toxic Design Studio to name a few.

rtre is a suite of plug-ins and stand-alone tools that enables integrated real time rendering of very complex 3D scenes. Specifically designed to accommodate the complexity of realistic architectural models and game level design conceptualizations, rtre uses Cubicspace’s own highly sophisticated and advanced rendering engine to deliver a massive performance increase over existing technology. It is able to render millions of polygons in fractions of a second rather than the standard minutes or hours, letting users navigate their most complex scenes smoothly and freely at 30 frames per second. Scene data may also be output as images, video or published into freely distributable interactive scenes requiring no separate client viewer.

“rtre absolutely delivers when it comes to speed and reliable output right inside the 3ds max interface,” states Beau Perschall, Vice President of Publishing at Turbo Squid. “It is amazing to be able to move through highly complex environments in real-time! I’m excited about the technology that Cubicspace brings to the DCP program and what it’s going to mean for the design/visualization and game creation fields. It’s a product that must be seen to be believed.”

“Having an industry proven technology like rtre in the DCP program further validates the goals of our partnership with Turbo Squid and our commitment to the 3ds max community,” noted Chris Ford, Director of Product Management - Animation Products, Discreet. “Whenever you can tell users that you’ve gotten a tool that was rated 10 out of 10 then it’s a win for everyone. We’re thrilled that Cubicspace is part of the program.”

Nestled under the hood lives a 350 Chevy smallblock, Edelbrock manifold, 650 cfm Edelbrock adjustable performance carburator, All American Flotech headers, acompanied by 3 1/2 inch Flowmaster exaust, with Delta Force mufflers. A Schnider camshaft, Rollerrocker valves, and 8 1/2 inch meats in the rear also help it fly off the line.
Since it has come into my possesion i have repaired, installed or replaced the following... Radiator, Starter, Selinoid, Heater Core, Water Pump, Alternator, Distributor (from points to electronic), Carburator, Oil pan, Timing Chain and cover, Rims, Tires, Bench seat (installed buckets), headlights, bezels, and paint.

If anyone has any questions on how I went about doing one of these spacific things or even smaller things such as changing oil, (or any other fluids ie. tranny, antifreeze, brake, differential)fixing a flat, rotating tires, timing... i would be more than happy to post in detail about how to do it

RIAA music lawsuits chill online downloading
Whether or not you approve of the recent lawsuits filed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) against people who allegedly are guilty of copyright infringement for having downloaded music from the Internet, a recent survey indicates that the lawsuits have had a chilling effect on free music downloading.
Legal background

The RIAA won an important case against Verizon in January, 2003, which required Verizon under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to release the names of subscribers who were suspected of copyright infringement. An appellate court upheld this result, and this led the way for the RIAA to begin the process of filing lawsuits against and extracting settlements from individuals accused of copyright infringement with respect to downloaded music.

The RIAA sent a first wave of subpoenas to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in July, 2003. After that, the RIAA filed more than 300 lawsuits against people suspected of distributing copyrighted music files for free. Some of the persons targeted by the lawsuits have settled. Some are fighting back legally.

More recently, an appellate court has overturned the Verizon ruling requiring the release of names by ISPs. This may force the RIAA to sue anonymous "John Doe" defendants while seeking subpoena approval from judges to ascertain identities.

The chilling results

According to a recent survey conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project as well as Media Metrix, the percentage of people in the United States who download music files online has dropped by almost half – from 35 million people down to 18 million since the RIAA launched its lawsuits in September, 2003. In fact, the statistics reveal that the percentage of Internet users who download music on an average day has dropped between 1% and 4%. Moreover, even those people who still download music are doing so less often. Steep declines in music downloading were noted among college-educated people (61% decline), parents with children living at home (58% decline), and women (58% decline)

In addition to the foregoing, there have been steep declines in the number of people running peer-to-peer file-sharing applications on their computers. The declines in user base for certain applications were as follows: 59% decline for Grokster, 25% decline for WinMX, 15% decline for KaZaa, and 9% decline for BearShare. The percentage of Internet users overall who admit sharing music, video, picture or game files has dropped from 28% to 20%.

At the same time as the declining trend as in unpaid for music downloading, an increasing number of consumers has signed up for paid online music services. For example, in just November, 2003 alone, 3.2 million people in the United States visited the for pay re-launched Napster.com. Apple's iTunes, now expanded to serve Windows-based computer users, attracted 2.7 million visitors in November.

The point is...

The RIAA already has succeeded in large measure by virtue of its lawsuits. While the individual settlements it has extracted have been relatively small, and although the legal going for the RIAA might be a little tougher given the recent Verizon appellate ruling, the fact is that the lawsuits have had a deterrent effect. At the end of the day, the RIAA wants to see a decrease in unpaid for music downloading, and the lawsuits, at least for now, have achieved that goal.

who the hell is this brandon character?

I've just recently discovered your websites (I'm assuming this site and dimension3cg.com are created by you) and first of all, I just have to say, I love your work. I know a little more than the average bear about computers, graphic design, webpage design, etc. and I can't eve begin to imagine the dedication and hard work put into all of this. After I was dazzled by each and every one of your fantastic graphic designs I explored just about every page and message on the forum and I started to wonder. What is this site all about? Are you showing off your graphic designs? Are you trying to get your Palm OS programs available? Or is it just a site that you created to comfort you that all that you have worked for and learned is for nothing? It seems like you have gotten away from your graphic design and focused on web development. Which isn't a bad thing, but don't forget about the pictures! lol I guess what I mean is, I want to see more. I can't get enough of them. Do you even plan to make more? And most importantly, how do I learn? lol I would appreciate a reply and will continue comming back to your website. A reply here is fine or email me. chevyoverford69@hotmail.com Thank you for your time :)

My only question is...how the hell do you drive it? Isn't it kinda hard when every time you touch the gas you cream your pants? lol If I ever owned a car so god damn cherry, I wouldn't let it move from it's glass case surrounded by laser security and would be situated in my bedroom and would wax it every day.

I'm new to this site and I've got to say the webmaster is fantastic! I've had digital art training and he blows me out of the water. I can do the front end design work, but he does all of this from code! I've never seen anyone so talented in computers. Glad he's on our side!

Cheers!

I've taken Flash training too. It can be fun but it's all basic vector animation. Not as complicated as 3D animation like using Lightwave 3D or 3DSM. Using Macromedia Director can be fun too. When you're creating vctor art, think of them in terms of sprites and layers. It's pretty easy when you think about how Japanimation films are created using similar techniques. You can move the background layers to create movement. Maybe when I have some extra time, we can work on a few examples.

Thanks for your help and advice on my website. I'm looking forward to a successful launch in the near future.

My goals:
1) Update the graphics to look more digital/electronica
2) Get the music DB up and running
3) Put links for my merchandise of CDs, stickers, patches, clubwear, T-shirts, and club toys like glow sticks, etc.
4) Work out a way to sell downloadable music from my site
5) Set up a fanbase message center with avatars

Your advice is always appreciated.

I downloaded and installed PalmOS development suite today. It's a nice start for a free tool. I can't get it to compile anything that will run on the simulator though :(
Maybe I still need to buy codewarrior 9 after all...
